Chicago Reptile House is owned by Jeff Lodico & Brian Potter. The two met while serving in the United States Marine Corps in HMLA-267 a Light Attack Helicopter Squadron based at Camp Pendleton California. The two worked at one of the first Reptile Shops in the United States called Reptile Haven from 1989 to 1993 owned by Chris Estep former owner of Bird Haven. A longtime friendship was born with both Chris and one of Chris' best friends and one of the guys who became the herpetocultural pioneer in Philippe de Vosjoli.
After leaving the Marines the two opened up Chicago Reptile House in 1993 in Orland Park Illinois. A couple years later they opened Chicago Birdhouse and then another few years later Chicago Fish & Coral Company was opened and includes a full time maintenance division servicing aquariums in and around the Chicagoland area.
